Is The Qi10 LS The Low Spin Monster?
Hi Swing Yard friends! Tim here with another round of club reviews, and this time in the form of the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver. The TaylorMade Qi10 drivers were released in early 2024 as an advancement in technology to it’s predecessor, the TaylorMade Stealth series. The Qi10 consists of four different models, the Qi10, Qi10 Max, Qi10 Max HL, and the Qi10 LS. In this article, we will focus primarily on the Qi10 LS, which stands for “Low Spin”, and evaluate how it compares against some of it’s competition.
Adoption
As you well know, TaylorMade has been atop the standings for driver releases for a long time. Always competing against the likes of Callaway, Ping, Titleist, and more. But what’s always intriguing to me is their ability to garnish relationships with some of the most influential golfers in the world. For example, fresh off the release of the Qi10 series, you have Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Nelly Korda bagging the Qi10 LS driver. Now, I know they are under contracts, but if some of the best players of all time are willing to play this club, the technology has clearly been implemented effectively well.

My name belongs nowhere near the aforementioned pros, but I do pay close attention to the latest trends in golf club technology. I put together a quick video to give a demonstration of the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver and some of the statistics behind my swings with it. Please feel free to give it a watch and pay particularly close attention to the details regarding spin rates and vertical launch angles (VLA). For more information regarding these stats, read our in-depth article about optimal driver loft and launch angles.
What’s New With The Qi10 LS?
As we move on, let’s take a further look into what’s new with the TaylorMade Qi10 LS. First, and most obvious, is that TaylorMade changed the color scheme from the Stealth Red to the Qi Blue. They rightfully named this the “New Infinity Carbon Crown”, which refers to the face of the club that covers 97% of the total crown area. I think it’s a great look and I personally like the look of the blue when standing over the golf ball. I don’t honestly think about the color of my golf club too much, but anything that gives me a tinge of extra confidence is worthwhile in my mind. I personally prefer the blue color over the red (Stealth), which I also previously owned.
Another improvement in the Qi10 series was the change in the CG, or center of gravity. As mentioned before, the LS model is for lower spin rates, and a forward center of gravity is specifically designed to reduce spin on the ball and increase ball speed by placing mass closer to the point of contact. This can increase distance but it will also launch the ball a bit lower as I had mentioned in my video above. As a result of this, the forward CG can make off center hits slightly less forgiving as a result of a lower moment of inertia (MOI).
Don’t let that fool you though, the TaylorMade Qi10 series was specifically built for a strong balance of ball speed and forgiveness. Their new technology, called the “Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™” is a primary factor in this equation as it focuses on those two categories and continues to preserve ball speed for low-face strikes. Qi10 Series Feature Comparison
TaylorMade achieved significant advancements with this release of the Qi10 series, but you might ask, “what model is right for me?” Let’s leverage the work our friends at TaylorMade have done to explore the different specs of each of the TaylorMade Qi10 series drivers. Conclusion
I have personally been a long time supporter of TaylorMade and you likely won’t hear me saying many negative things about them. For a lower handicap golfer I think the Qi 10 is potentially the best driver on the market right now! If this model is right for you, I think the TaylorMade Qi10 LS speaks for itself and shows why it’s been so widely adopted by both pros and amateurs since 2024. Distance and forgiveness – that’s what everyone strives for in a driver and TM nailed it with this one. Make sure to do your research and pair the appropriate Qi series model with a shaft that works best with your swing. Now, let’s get out there and find those fairways!
FAQ
TaylorMade maximized distance and forgiveness with the Qi10 LS by incorporating their “Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™” technology that they had previously released with their Stealth series. This technology has been improved and the key factor for hitting those long straight drives.
The TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver offers improved forgiveness and lower spin compared to the Stealth 2 Plus, thanks to its redesigned sliding weight system and a more forward center of gravity. While the Stealth 2 Plus focuses on shot-shaping and work-ability, the Qi10 LS combines low-spin performance with greater stability on off-center hits, making it a more forgiving option for high-speed players.
Yes, the LS model specifically is targeted for high swing speed players. The other Qi series models are built for different style and handicap players.
Yes, the LS version of the Qi10 has an adjustable weight. It’s extremely easy to adjust and simply requires the TaylorMade golf wrench, or similar tool. Changing the 18g sliding weight on the back of the club allows for adjustments to the club’s center of gravity (CG) and swing weight, influencing ball flight characteristics like launch, spin, and forgiveness
