The Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver was widely adopted post it’s release date in January of 2024. The Triple Diamond version, specifically, was immediately regarded as one of the most workable low-spin drivers that Callaway has ever made. The TD is typically designed for tour players, low handicaps, and/or those with exceptional club head speed. There are other models (Max, Max Fast, Max D) which are tailored for varying handicaps and playing styles that are no low-spin specific.

We’re going to dive into some of the upgrades that the Ai Smoke TD driver brought to the table. Further to that, we’ll give you our honest review of the club and how it stacks up against some of it’s other 2024 competitors.

Upgrades in Technology

The Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke line introduced a new evolution of technology by leveraging what they called an AI-optimized face. This Callaway Ai Smart Face Technology leveraged tests and swing data from thousands of real live golfers. Then they used this data to create micro deflections across the face which helped generate multiple sweet spots for consistent ball speed and launch angles across the face and improving mishits. Callaway is claiming this improved forgiveness by up to 20% over the original Paradym model.

Consistent with the prior Paradym model, they maintained the same carbon chassis and weight system for low CG (Center of Gravity) and high MOI (Moment of Inertia). The head provides some positivity to look down on and boasts a 450cc head size, which is plenty big.

The final set of upgrades to the 2024 Paradym Ai Smoke models were targeted towards improved aerodynamics and sound upgrades. This consisted of some tweaks to the crown and sole of the club for better airflow and a more solid impact feel for golfers. Ultimately, the airflow tweaks helped players increase ball speeds by 2 to 3 mph on center hits.

All of this together has made the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond a very elite driver and one that many pros have flocked to, most notably, Xander Schauffele and Thomas Detry. Let’s dive further into our personal review of the driver and what stood out to us while testing it.

My Personal Review

I’ve personally tested this club both inside on my golf simulator and outside on the golf course. The golf club is solid. It feels great, was really consistent for me, very forgiving and also looks nice from a visibility perspective. I could honestly play this driver myself and I would hit a lot of fairways. But, if I’m being honest, I’m too greedy with distance and get a little too much spin with this club head despite it being their low spin model. Do keep in mind that this club is recommended for players with a higher swing speed.

Alternatively, there are other options, such as the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max, Max D, and Max Fast that are tailored to differing swing speeds and golf swings. It’s entirely possible that one of those is a better fit for you and this review of the Triple Diamond version is just your gateway to find it.

Moving on, let’s take a look at my video review. You will see, like I mentioned above, that I’m not fully optimizing myself with the Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond. Check out the video below as I explain why that is. Also, I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with our optimal driver loft and launch article we have which explains how to get the most out of your driver!

🏌️‍♂️ Final Verdict: Is the Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Worth It?

The short answer is, yes, however, I would highly suggest you go try it before you buy it. You can see from my video that I hit this driver extremely well! But, like I mentioned, I struggled to find my perfect shaft/launch angle setup with it, and I’ve become a picky golf nut. The launch angles, spin rates and ball speed all need to align to get the most out of your driver and I just couldn’t get the spin down enough to be perfectly satisfied. I still love my Qi10, but that barely beats the Triple Diamond out.

I would not suggest this driver if your swing speed is below ~100-105mph. Again, this is the low spin model of this Ai Smoke series. It would likely not help players with a swing speed lower than that. Anyone that has a lower swing speed will actually need a bit more spin and loft to maximize their distance. I’d encourage you to check out the other Ai Smoke models that I’ll list in the next paragraph.

Where to buy?

I am always a big fan of buying used golf clubs. The way retailers sell their newest models at such premium prices sort of drives me crazy. I’d personally recommend buying from 2nd Swing as they often carry the lowest prices. But, let me provide you with a one-stop shop of all the links you need so you can check the prices for yourself. Here’s each of the Paradym Ai Smoke Driver models:

  • Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max D
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max Womens
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max D Womens
  • Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast Womens

Thanks for tuning in!

FAQ

Is the Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond forgiving?

Absolutely. The Callaway Ai Smart Face Technology is purposely geared towards making the face more forgiving and providing a bigger sweet spot for players on off-center hits.

What swing speed is best for the Triple Diamond?

We think your swing speed should be roughly 100-105mph or higher. This is obviously a slight estimation, but the Triple Diamond is the low spin version of the Ai Smoke models. For players with lower swing speeds, the Max, Max D and Max Fast are definitely better options to maximize your distance and launch angles.

Does the Triple Diamond have a draw or fade bias?

By definition, it has a fade or neutral bias. You can adjust the adapter settings on your shaft to be more draw biased.

Is the Triple Diamond designed to kill your slice?

No, it is not. If you’re looking for help in getting rid of your slice, you’d want to look at the Max D version. This is their draw biased designed driver head in that series.
